Mark,

As much as I understand your anger, I think you're letting your emotions get
in the way of reason. Not all Arabs are America-hating place-crashing
killers, just as not all Italians are in the Mob, not all Southerners are
racist red-necks, etc....

A group of evil, heartless zealots perpetrated an act of unspeakable
violence on our country. They thought by bringing terror to our backyard
they could bring us to our knees, and prove their superiority. I hope and
believe that the leaders of our nation will prove them wrong, and bring the
full might of our nation to bear in punishing ALL those responsible, whether
by planning or by carrying out the attack.

But if we let ourselves respond with "ALL (Arabs /Italians /Southerners
/Americans,etc...) are evil", then we really aren't any better than those
fanatics who though that by destroying one of the symbols of America, that
they could diminish America.

Sorry if it sounds like I'm jumping all over you, Mark. I'm really not. I
am just as angry as you! I am fortunate enough to not have lost a loved one
or colleague in this tragic, tragic event, but I know many people who have.
Several people in my neighborhood have co-workers still missing, and hope
for finding them safe is fading by the hour. One 3-year-old child in my
son's day-care is still waiting for his Daddy to come home from work.

But I don't think the solution is to keep Arabs off airplanes. Part of the
solution is to check EVERYONE who gets on an airplane! If it means taking an
extra hour to get on your flight, it's a small price to pay. We take our
freedom of movement for granted in the U.S., and for better or worse, that
may need to change some to ensure another catastrophe like this can never
happen again.

OK, I think it's time to get down off my soapbox. I need to go hug my kids
again, and give thanks, and pray for those poor innocent souls who will
never be able to hug their loved ones again.

so far George W is doing ok and as a the title and a
rock group once said: WE WILL SURVIVE!!!!

In the meantime, prayers should go out to all and
until we know for SURE no Arabs should be allowed on
any planes....
