Prepping a system for power down and removal after migration to Power 11.
Already deleted all LPARs of IBM i, AIX, VIOS and assigned all resources to
one single LPAR of IBMi. Booted from media, initialized disks and just
installed LIC only. I'm in DST.
After assigning a disk in the ESLS-001 expansion unitS as the load source I
initialized the rest of the disks in the expansion units and added them to
the system ASP.
I cannot add the following disks:
Power 9 9009-41A
System unit 78D2-001
Backplane 2D34 P31 P2
Disk Unit 5B41-050 P105 P2-D1
Disk Unit 5B41-050 P106 P2-D2
Disk Unit 5B41-050 P102 P2-D7
Disk Unit 5B41-050 P103 P2-D8
I assume these are for VIOS only and it's one of those different
bytes/sector issue? And while I might be able to totally reformat them for
IBM i with some low level option I'm not sure I want to lower the value for
someone who might want VIOS reinstalled.
I just want to wipe the data. Although there shouldn't really be much
confidential data on the VIOS drives, as opposed to what was on the other
drives.
And, if Paul Nelson is still lurking, no, I'm not interested in playing
with Tannerite.
