We are changing our SMTP server, so I need to change the settings on our
IBM i to use the new server. This seems like it should be simple but I am
having trouble getting it to work.
Here is what I have done so far.
1. On the new SMTP server, I have entered the IP address of our IBM i
to authorize it to receive email from our system.
2. I've added the new SMTP server in the Host Table Entries (I don't
know if I needed to do this or not).
3. ENDMSF *IMMED
4. ENDTCPSVR *SMTP
5. CHGSMTPA
Changed the Mail Router from the address of the old SMTP server to the
address of the new SMTP server.
6. STRTCPSVR *SMTP
7. STRMSF
8. Send email from IBM i using the SNDDST command.
I get the email but it does not come through the new SMTP server. There is
a webpage for the new server that shows the email activity for it and it
does not show the email that I sent coming through that server. It does
show other emails that came from our company from outside the IBM i.
Is there something that I need to do that I haven't done?
