You still need to have your scanner software submit an "enter" or "field exit" - my statement suggested the field exit.

Regardless of what you choose to use, you need to 123scan to add it after scanning a barcode. My PC/Network tech recalls a checkbox somewhere in the 123scan software for adding that keystroke.

This example from one of our barcode fields is common throughout our applications. It accepts Part Number, UPC, GTIN, etc.
