And again we're full circle... you suggest open source for someone who is a
vendor as something "easier" than built in SSL. Maybe for a couple one
offs, yes, but not for thousands of customers.

I think you're missing my point entirely.

We've had a solution for OAuth 2.0 for Office 365 and Gmail for over 10
years, and only now it's a thing only because MS is forcing it, and Google
is next, which I warned about for years.

This statement makes no sense. The language doesn't make a difference.
We're calling the same endpoints. Sounds like word salad to me.

Although you need to understand and install the open-source packages which
is quite well documented these days and easy to do.

Ask me how many customers have asked me to incorporate a web interface,
open source, "new stuff", etc. into my offerings that are used mainly in
background batch processes.

Go ahead. I'll give you two guesses and the first doesn't count.

Now ask me how many customers making the move to OAuth 2.0 for Office 365
email have needed assistance setting it up just because there are a couple
web pages involved, setting up the *SYSTEM SSL store on the IBM i, adding
DNS servers so they can resolve endpoints for O365, updating the
authorities to the keyring files... I could go on.

These lists are our own little world. The real world is very different.
