Hi Patrik, I will try to be kind even if using the word mediocre without
even seeing our application does not deserve much kindness.

I have not expressed opinions or judgments on the 5250 instead I ask you to
name a software house that in the last 10 years has created a new product
based on 5250. By product I mean something more complex than a console for
a toaster.

Best regards

I know.

But we spent an huge amount of time and money to escape from the green
screen stigma and I get hives when I read these threads.

Let me get this straight. Your opinion is based on a huge amount of spent
money to escape a stigma, which was pushed by IBM and some people. Both
suggesting that modernization is just about GUI. That equation apparently
didn't work out at large for the platform. And now you get hives when
reading messages where 5250 is put into positive light.

Only to escape a stigma? Or to add some value to using the existing
applications? Are your hives really about 5250, or about a possible fear to
have been wrong spending lots of money for more or less crudely "GUIfying"
5250 applications? Possibly with mediocre results?

Just asking…
