Maybe we are getting closer to the point.

The general problem about IBM i applications is that there is a very large
codebase without the proper interface. And the specific problem on Midrange
is that too many persons think that the transition to a better UI is not
possible (or too expensive) without living the platform.

I see many situations where many complain about not having the budget to
change the interface of the programs but they spend time and energy to
adapt the existing programs to the rules and the changing market. I don't
see why they should be two different things, if you don't adapt the rules
you are out of the market and if you don't adapt the interface too.

I hope this answer your question "How is that related?" and pairs with
Jeff answer "Maybe none were needed?"

Best regards

Hi Patrik, I will try to be kind even if using the word mediocre without
even seeing our application does not deserve much kindness.

I was using the word mediocre as a possibility, not as a fact.

All in all, my intention was not to be rude or lessen your efforts. Just
to give you an idea how your statement can be interpreted in a different
way.

I have not expressed opinions or judgments on the 5250 instead I ask you
to name a software house that in the last 10 years has created a new
product based on 5250. By product I mean something more complex than a
console for a toaster.

How is that related?

Is there any software house which creates actually new software for IBM i,
instead of maintaining existing things? No matter what kind of UI it has?

:wq! PoC
