We've been Hybrid for years and moving to Full Cloud in the next 10 months..

Things to consider/Pain Points/recommendations

NETWORKING! - Make sure there is full redundancy all the way out, including Internet.

INTERNAL NETWORK - If you have more than one LPAR/Server etc in the DC - request there is a dedicated (non-routable) line between them for fast file transfers.

PTF's OS Upgrades - We don't have access to console, but we do manage our own PTF"s and OS Upgrades to save $.  We work with the hosting company to do zoom calls to get console access on an as needed bases.

BACKUPS.   Let the provider take it all over.  Free yourself of managing Backups, but keep a close eye on it to make sure it's being done properly.

Hi Everyone,

We're in the very early stages of planning and evaluation, and we're
looking for a list of potential cloud vendors for a (Large) IBM i
environment. We are considering the following solutions:

- Hosted
- Full cloud
- Hybrid (Hosted/Cloud) and Hybrid (On prem./Cloud)

So, any suggestions welcome, as well as thoughts and experience, including
ease of migration from on prem.

Thanks in advance!
