× The internal search function is temporarily non-functional. The current search engine is no longer viable and we are researching alternatives.
As a stop gap measure, we are using Google's custom search engine service.

Not to mention job names are just names..

I can submit the same program to run under two different names
SBMJOB CMD(CALL PGM(MYBATCHJOB)) JOB(BOB)
SBMJOB CMD(CALL PGM(MYBATCHJOB)) JOB(TOM)

How could the OS know what is a legitimate shared access and "a fight"? =>
Preventing this is the responsibility of the application programmer. As
you've demonstrated by introducing a semaphore. :-)
