If it is DRDA, then yes, it is a keyed product.

I was under the impression that the recommended method was ODBC with the drivers supplied by IBM that run on IBM i ? ( or if from off platform the ones supplied with ACS full package download ) That as opposed to the other potential solutions simply because it has been optimized for the environment.

ODBC works. Can you use ODBC instead?
