My 2 cents
Do NOT modify IBM supplied objects - in this case QBATCH Sub-System
Create a library MYSYS or any name you like
Duplicate the QBATCH Sub-System into there
Make your changes, add job queue's anything you want.
If you need more job queue's create them in your MYSYS library
Modify your start up program to start the QBATCH Sub-System in MYSYS
Create a CL program in MYSYS with all the changes you have made, to
recreate your modified version of the QBATCH Sub_System so when you do an
operating system upgrade or move to a new system you just run this program
again and you get all your specific requirements and you don't change the
IBM supplied ones.
I have many IBM commands where we have changed some defaults, they all get
copied to the MYSYS library and the changes applied to my copy of the
command.
I also modify the system library list to put MYSYS at the top.

QBATCH is an IBM supplied subsystem description and ordinarily I would not
suggest restoring from one system to another. That said since that
object
hasn’t changed in quite some time, it’ll be OK.
We don’t know if the donor system is at the same OS and TR level as the
new
one, or was it a direct restore (doubtful due to the way the question was
raised) so there are too many unknowns to really be happy with any
recommendation other than “add them back manually “.
Other than with this specific object readers should not take the advise to
just restore it blindly without some of those questions being asked and
answered.

Then, as I said in an earlier email, you need to either restore the
subsystem *SBSD object from the old system, or do all the ADDJOBQE

Hi
Right was saying Roger :
“I could be mistaken, but it sounded to me that he was asking about
SBSsubsystem description jobq entries - not the actual jobs.
Note the reference to having to run ADDJOBQE multiple times...”
My need is to restore the subsystem description jobq entries (for
thereQBATCH !!)midrange-l@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx>
Thanks

Oggetto: Save and restore JOBQE contentjobq
Hi all
I’m migrating to a new IBM i .. in the old IBM i, i had created some
(in QGPL) and associated to a subsystem; now restoring QGPL , i have
restored also JOBQ, but not the “link” JOBQ and SBS. Question : is
relatedanyway to save and restore the JOBQE content ? i have to run ADDJOBQElist
manually for every JOBQ that i have created ?
Thanks in advance
Gio
