Dunno much about Windows, but I for sure know from my colleagues that AD *requires* a DNS to be run on the AD servers. It's automatic, so to say. And thus you can easily "abuse" that DNS for entries not belonging to the MS universe.

Interesting. I despise both of them almost equally. This is common here in GErmany, because both of them eventually try to make a fortune by monetizing your (personal) data, giving a s*it about data protection. They're in good company with Facebook, Twitter, and others, though. Did you notice that "don't be evil" has been devaluated by Google as a goal around 5 years ago?
