As for the options given for the maintenance, I wouldn't know or be
permitted to start. With Sumaru, I think you are basically saying that this
will permit ACS to continue using the version of java that it was designed
for, even when a new version of java is installed on windows, is that
correct?

Unfortunately, nobody seems to know who is responsible for ACS here, it's a
bit of a shambles.
But I think I'm right in saying that you cannot just update java on windows
and expect everything to work forever. I'm just saying because I'm running
into a lot of problems with the application crashing regularly and the
people in charge of windows don't seem to be interested. I'm saying that
it's a security risk because there's no way of knowing if and when the
users will be affected if java is continually updated and java applications
aren't.

update JAVA on windows without checking for updates on any applications
that use it. Am I right to be worried that ACS could even eventually fail
completely if it is not maintained? We are on version 1.1.8.1 which dates
back to 2018. Java is around 2020.
