RE: Web service call to determine distance between 2 zip codes

There are databases available, some free, that have zip, latitude, longitude. From that, you can apply a formula to calculate the distance.

I last used Help Systems SEQUEL product a bit over 10 years ago but recall that they had a built-in function for it. Did a proof-of-concept for some sales analysis.

The Google Maps APIs could most likely handle this pretty easily. You
would just need something like GETURI, HTTPAPI, or SQL HTTP functions to
make the calls. You could also use open source (nodejs, etc).

I don't have any specific examples but it shouldn't be too difficult if
you've worked with web APIs before.
