For development, I have my doubts ... programming is as much art as
science. I don't know if AI/ML could be taught enough to do new
development or even maintenance programming.
As for support, it could (and is) be used to help users deal with known
issues and common issues. Half the chat systems on the internet are
driven by AI & ML systems.
Diagnosing new issues would still require a person with domain knowledge.
