We at iInTheCloud don't do Data Domain but do support Falconstor and Cybernetics VTLs. These units both will deduplicate your backups and then send only unique data to your partner, such as us! :-)

I strongly recommend that rather than trying some funky file transfer option, that you find a partner that can work with replication from your Data Domain since those WILL do replication as well. Failing that we'll happily sell you a Falconstor and work with you to replicate that data off site to one of our data centers.

Hi,

We currently do backups to a Data Domain VTL using BRMS. Our weekly backup we duplicate to physical tape using the DUPMEDBRM command. Our management would like to get rid of the physical tape and wondered if we could duplicate the backup to Amazon S3 or another cloud storage option. I assume this is possible. I ran across the "Cloud Storage Solutions for I" product. I did notice the limitation of 2TB per day. I guess it would also depend on our internet connection. Is that the product we would need to do this? Are there other options? Currently, I'm not sure how big our backup is. I'll check into that. We are on 7.3 and up to date on PTF's as of July this year. TIA
