Update:
Vendor provides a 'release' program. Basically it checks for users no longer here.
We had it on the job scheduler to run periodically.
However we did not have it on the scheduler on our CBU machine.
We switch over to our CBU machine quarterly. However it's just a weekend and we don't get quite the number of users. However we recently had a prime time switch due to some faulty air conditioning in one of those external data centers where it's jaw dropping that you'd ever have this. That, and not running the release on that machine since God knows when, popped the number.
We now have the release running on a periodic basis.
However that won't clear the message from appearing in QSYSOPR. Only applying a new key will. Vendor will not supply a new key unless we upgrade. That machine probably won't upgrade for 2-3 years. Supposedly it's not going to really be an issue unless we exceed that 500 maximum.
