That has occurred to me as well, so before I even asked the List(!), I
pulled out Appendix E of my handy-dandy QuestView manual, which has
really good reference charts for both ASCII and EBCDIC (they ought to
be: they're MY charts).
An EBCDIC right-paren is hex 5D, which is an ASCII right-bracket. And an
ASCII right-paren is hex 29, which is clear down in the EBCDIC control
characters (as a 5250 screen attribute, it's red blinking reverse-image).
