Hi Dave
I looked at the help for OVRDBF - BTW, there is no default _value_ for
the MBR parameter. But there is behavior if you don't specify that
parameter, as described here -
Specify the member name that overrides (at file open time) the
member name specified in the using program, or in other called
OVRDBF commands. If the member name is not specified, and a
TOFILE parameter other than *FILE has been specified, the first
member in the file is used.
So without naming the MBR you get whatever is considered to be the
_first_ member.
Cheers
Vern

Hi,
I have an RPG program that uses a cursor on a PF.
Now, a second data member has been added to the file. Can I trust OVRDBF
for my cursor to work on the correct data member? Is there a better way?
Thanks
