PDM and SEU are two totally different programs.
PDM is library/object/member tool. One of the options in PDM is to call SEU. SEU is the editor for program source. If you don’t want to use PDM you can always type in STRSEU. Or, if you’re familiar with the S/38 instead of using PDM you can do GO PROGRAM and take option 1.
Let’s say I made a PDM option called SP for WRKSPLF. Would it be fair to then say “when you say spool files are you actually using PDM?”?
I suppose you could make a PDM option to STRPCO and fire up Rational. Would that be fair to say “when you say Rational are you actually using PDM?”?

When you say SEU are you actually using PDM?

I have RDI and use it. For quick CLP changes etc, I’m almost always in SEU because it’s faster. It also helps with several other things as well. But then Larry and I are admins, and my applications programming is all system related, so……..

Totally agree it can help and yes at some point I will acquire a real tool!

Other bit though is most of the programs are teeny and, more importantly, for the majority of the partitions in our cloud I have only console access. That makes the use of RDi problematic!

Well, I did have a gent at least a decade or so ago who was having a devil of a time with a CL program. I pulled it up in RDi and the color coding quickly found the issue his eyes could not. It was something like this:

/* +

Chgvar ... +

Call ... +

*/

Stretch that out over a page and you can see the issue.
