Hello Rob,

This was the job description QDFTJOBD, not the job description QBATCH. QDFTJOBD translates to Default Job Description. As in, when you do a CRTUSRPRF what will the default job description be for that user.
Your users should not be submitting stuff under the QBATCH job description unless you explicitly tell them to, and grant them permission.

Thanks for pointing that missing link out! In fact, the problem with submitting jobs to batch was most apparent for me when using wrkmbrpdm option 14 to compile objects (which doesn't block the interactive session). And *that* command seems to use the QBATCH JOBD.

I wonder if the proper solution to that QBATCH JOBD would be to simply add users needing that capability to the QPGMR group.

:wq! PoC
