Hi John:
Our experience has been to always make sure it is current and it has eliminated most all of the quirks.  Not to say we don't run into some oddities from time to time but making sure it is current seems to make a difference.   I recall there was a version around 2006 - 2008 that was buggy and quirky but versions after we're finding reliable.   Working in a lot of environments we've run into a lot of unusual interfaces and labels.  Whenever we've had need we've found TL Ashford to be very responsive.  I like the GUI better for sure than the green screen interface.  It could be improved more and suspect they will continue to improve it.    We've worked with a lot of other label software and they all have pluses and minuses but do think TL Ashford can't be matched what they offer for the price.   I don't understand the support response because I have at least 7 or 8 team members that work with TL Ashford and they have always been really responsive. I'm certain though if you're not pleased they would appreciate hearing from you.
Regards,Laura

Hi Laura,

We have always had maintenance/support with them.

So you’re saying the “Barcode400 Graphical Interface” designer, which runs on your PC/Laptop, works great for you and is not buggy?

Hi John:

We use it extensively for several customers.

We've never had a support issue.  We've always gotten a quick response.  Are you under maintenance?  It's very reasonable compared to other tools.

I do know though like any software it does need to be current.  We've worked with many different label tools and are always pleased when we find Barcode400 in an environment.  Our experience has been really great and we've worked with many tools and many different label software packages.  We've found it easy to troubleshoot and also easy to interface.

If you're current on software and under maintenance I'd give TL Ashford a call and express your concerns I'm certain they'd want to hear from you.

Regards,
Laura

Thanks Laura.

We’re on v4.0.

Define “helpful”. . .

2 years ago, I might have agreed with you, but it seems like they can be intermittent on their following up.

2 of us here do work on labels, and we agree that it’s about 1 and 3 for getting responses from them.
Ie 1 in 3 times, they will get back to us (this is an estimate based on gut).

Perhaps the question I should be asking is “Does anyone out there, use Barcode400 Graphical Interface, daily or weekly, to successfully create or change labels, and find the software useable and with very few bugs?”
(because we don’t, in fact my coworker basically never uses it cuz its too buggy and unpredictable)

John

Hi John:

Are you using the most current version of Barcode400?

Have yo reached out to TL Ashford.  They are always very helpful.  I'd bet John or Keith can help out or anyone on the support desk.  But before contacting the helpdesk make sure you're current.

Regards,
Laura

Has anyone else experienced many or similar problems with this software?

Every other time I fire it up to use it, it won't open the label I select and instead the software closes.
Every once in awhile I can fool it by opening up a label other than the one I am working on, then when that label opens, I can 'sometimes' open the one I want to actually work on.  Sometimes. . .

This happens almost all the time.
