I think there's no reason to shy away from Java. Not installing it? That's
a very good precaution and ACS supports just using a bundled JRE that's not
available to anybody by default (If a hacker has enough access to RUN files
in your machine, having the JRE unzipped in a directory is the least of
your problems)...

So is TN5250J.

However both require Java. What's your issue with Java ?
