I would skip level 2 and go straight to 3. We tried 2 (IDK why, baby steps maybe?). In less than a day we brought the system down again and IPL'd with it upped to level 3 since 2 was a complete waste of time.
I think 2 was useful if you had some really ancient PC's but if you're under audit pressure I just do not see that as a factor.
