Ah, now I see. I understood your second post as a clear sign of "I mean ALLNULL, not ALWNULL!". :-)
Since the individual fields in the PF aren't meant to be NULL, ALWNULL isn't set. And the "implicit" NULL values resulting from missing records in the opposite table are purely "virtual". I can't COMP EQ NULL in DDS, NULL isn't a value for COMP.
Yes, this is a tricky one. :-)
