It’s ok. I’m learning midrange.com is becoming more and more irrelevant the further I move into my career. I hardly post anymore. Prolly won’t much anymore. Too many other good resources out there.
I understand your frustration, but there are and ever will be situations like this where a run-time environment has limitations which do not exist on either a real AIX install or on Linux or other Unices. This special environment — which is unique to IBM i — isn't widely known outside the Midrange world and thus Midrange.com stays relevant for the time being.
If you're having problems with some FOSS within PASE which are unrelated to the PASE environment itself, I bet there indeed will be more specialized conversation platforms for certain topics in the net.
