The internal search function is temporarily non-functional. The current search engine is no longer viable and we are researching alternatives.
As a stop gap measure, we are using Google's custom search engine service.

Just like IBM won't support older cyphers anymore, nor SMB1 the old standard FTP will go away as some point too.
I highly doubt it. FTP will stay for existing LAN workflows, just like rcmd stayed in support and use, also being a plain text protocol.
Abandoning SMB1 was an actual exploit-available security-based decision, not because of plain text.
Makes me miss SNA and it's vastly superior security, albeit with somewhat more difficult configurations...
Security? By hard coding APPN peers and turning line-to-controller auto-configuration off? You can have this also by only allowing certain IP addresses to your box. Which kind of security do you talk about? :-)
You'd face very similar issues with security if the internet ran on SNA. In fact, it's not about SNA security vs. IP security. It's about public network vs. private (internal) network. (I strongly suggest that security measures for external accesses should also be applied to internal nodes to the most extent possible, also. But this is a different story about working comfort vs. security.)
