No argument, as the world changes so does this type of communications.
I would argue that a static web side does not need https:, but then many
would argue that the communications between the client and server could be
compromised too easily for nefarious purposes.
Again not to worry about it, too many other things to consider now.

It's just not worth the effort.
Look at it this way: You're looking at websites every day, no log in
required. But more and more sites redirect to https instead of http.
We have to accept that encryption (and proof of the other side not
pretending to be who its not) is state of the art nowadays.
