The AUTH command is used to initialize a secure connection to the connected FTP server. If you require SSL then the AUTH must be issues before you can logon. This is a client issue. You may be able to adjust your client configuration.

Subject: SSL for FTP server

I'm working on enabling SSL for my IBMi FTP server. My FTP client
(Powershell) is giving " 534 AUTH must precede USER" when I try to connect. Is this an issue with my client? Do I need a different client?

TIA
