We do a similar process.
- FTP images to whatever partition is being PTFed/upgraded
- perform PTF install/OS upgrade
Just trying to streamline the process and FTPing images between systems is
the biggest time factor that we can reduce. Plus, the size of OS images
tends to push ASP % used higher than we like it to be.

Steve, I know someone who did an OS upgrade from 7.2 to 7.3 using images
on the HMC. I'm not familiar with the process
PTF's not sure but if an OS upgrade can be done that way, PTF's probably
can be as well. I think his 3rd party biz partner
showed him how to do it.
The point is, I've heard it can be done.
I need to find out how to do that since I have 5 partitions and could
streamline
My process of 1 partition at a time including the save 21 or brms *system.

subject: Install PTFs / Perform OS upgrades from HMC images?
Suppose I wanted to perform OS upgrades or install PTFs on 25 systems.
Would it be possible to do this using images stored on the HMC rather than
copying the images to each individual system? Has anyone actually done
this? Any experience reports appreciated!
Thanks,
Steve McKay
