Subject: Suggestions for Getting WebSphere Logs to App Developers

Scenario:

App developer that has minimal experience with i, but administers Java apps.
He needs regular access to profile logs, and according to him he used to get it via mapped drives to the WebSphere profile directories in the IFS. We've cleaned up a lot of drive shares, so we're reluctant to give that one back.

Options:

1) WRKLNK - He can pick this up fairly easily, but I know he likes to work with the log files on his local workstation using his favorite text editor.

2) IFS Viewer via ACS - This one would provide him the ability to copy the file locally to his machine, but I know it is more steps than his original method.

3) vim or nano in Bash via SSH

4) Bring back the shared IFS directory

5) ???

Any comments or suggestions?
