The problem is that sometimes third-party users of SMB don't update their
code even for current generation products. I had to ask our printer
supplier to replace an MFP since the "scan to network" functionality didn't
support SMB2/3 (I can't remember right now the minimum for encryption) and
I enabled forced encryption on all SMB shares. The printer wasn't old and
it was still getting FW updates from the manufacturer, so it's just down to
"not caring enough" to implement the newer protocols.
You'll have to work with the vendor to see if it supports more up to date
versions of SMB.

If SMB2 is new to you then that MS OS is very far behind.
7.4 allows SMB3. You can control that though.
Prepare to be belittled if you allow SMB1 though.

I am told with V7R4 there is a new protocol SMBV2, it could cause issue
with the fastfax processor mapping a drive to the IBMI, since the processor
is on a non-supported MS OS. Has anyone came across this issue?

Any suggestions would be appreciated?

Thanks
