Hi Patrik

If you get RDi and run it on Mac or wherever, there is a free set of utilities called iSphere - not Windows-specific that I know of. It does have a library on the i, much of which is called from RDi for its several utilities. One I use all the time is the search utility - FNDSTRPDM in RDi can search across filters (filters can be over many libraries and files), but the iSphere search is orders of magnitude faster and includes the ability to save the results to an Excel file, among other features.

I'm fairly certain the RDi will work with the machines you work with, it has the latest syntax, as well as features that far outpace what you can do with vim and ftp - such as the outline, which is invaluable for navigating in RPGLE source, especially larger and more complex as to subroutines and subprocedures.

Cheers
Vern

Already know that, I'm using it with post-v4 machines.

RDi is licensed but not horribly priced, and well worth it if you do any real development.
I'm not sure: I'm very comfortable with my vim and ftp workflow. The only thing I'm missing is the broken syntax highlighting. Just a question of activating enough brain cells for half a day to get it done properly.

There’s an older version called WSCDI that is part of the license for the compiler if you can find a copy, although it’s a windows only program.

No, thanks. No Windows. :-)
