Sometimes one does not see the wood for the trees.
QIBM and QSYS are not the same.

Thanks all, Darryl.

While I'm not sure about the reason for this particular backup, no
everything with it is fine. You asked why '/QIBM' directories are still
being backed up. Simple, you have not omitted them. So change the command
to read:

SAV DEV('qsys.lib/qtemp.lib/sav_ifs.file')
OBJ(('/*') (qsys.lib *OMIT) ('/qdls' *OMIT) ('/qsr' *OMIT)
('/qtcptmm' *OMIT) ('/ptf' *OMIT) ('/cum' *OMIT)
('/qibm' *OMIT))
SAVACT(*YES)
SAVACTOPT(*ALWCKPWRT)
DTACPR(*HIGH)
ASYNCBRING(*YES)

Note I added the omit for the /qibm directories and added ASYNCBRING
(makes it much faster)

Jim, I have the folders specified that I want omitted.

('/QSYS.LIB' *OMIT) ('/QDLS' *OMIT) ('/QSR' *OMIT) ('/QTCPTMM' *OMIT)
('/PTF' *OMIT) ('/CUM_PTF' *OMIT)

Is there something wrong with this?
Darryl.

It’s saving them because you don’t have them omitted. What’s the
purpose of this backup?

I have the following command. Why does it still attempt to save

some of the other folders?

SAV DEV('/QSYS.LIB/QTEMP.LIB/SAV_IFS.FILE') +
OBJ(('/*') ('/QSYS.LIB' *OMIT) ('/QDLS'
+

*OMIT) ('/QSR' *OMIT) ('/QTCPTMM' +

*OMIT) ('/PTF' *OMIT) +
('/CUM_PTF' *OMIT)) SAVACT(*YES) +

SAVACTOPT(*ALWCKPWRT) UPDHST(*YES) +

DTACPR(*HIGH) I got this from the help
examples in RDi.
