Whoever came up with this requirement has probably a very outdated view of security still being a physical thing only. The world has advanced a lot since the 1980's, and "we've done this for decades, so why change" usually leads to a lot of head-shaking from experienced people.

:wq! PoC

Some time back I was working at customer site. Good old physical 5250 console in the computer room. Computer room is quite secure behind multiple locked doors. We needed to modify some cable connections to the twinax 'bricks'. Customer says 'follow me' and out we go to the warehouse. We end up at what is the opposite side of the computer room wall. He removes a set of three screws and the entire wall opens up on a piano style hinge. There, screwed to the studs, are all the twinax bricks, at least 6 of them! Cables from the computer coming up from below and dozens of twinax cables feeding in from above.

Yep we could have connected any terminal in the place as 'the console' and all we needed was a screwdriver.

As Patrik said: 'Security is no longer a physical thing' in fact it's very far from that.
