Did you configure the enterprise devices?

Recently new PTFs were put out that ended the need to run them in APPC/APPN.

Rob, while I don’t disagree with telnet (particularly if you use exits to control it) STRPASTHR gives you some control naked TELNET does not. For instance, with telnet to kill the connection you need to add Parms to the sign off, or kill the connection with SYSREQ. With STRPASTHR is easier to kill the connection. I see them as equal partners.

DSPMSGD CPF8935 does indicate that you're on the right path by looking at QRMTSIGN. I'd try *VERIFY. This is what I use.

Hello,

We are trying to connect to one of our client using STRPASTHR, even though connectivity in place and everything seems to be fine on client side as well the command is failing.

QRMTSIGN is set to *FRCSIGNON, is there any other setting that needs to be checked.

Environment variable does not exist.
Environment variable added.
Connecting to remote host 1X2.1XX.2XX.1XX using port 992
Pass-through not allowed to system BXXXXXXX.
TELNET session ended. Connection closed.

Thanks,
Ashwani
