ALSO-- be ye warned... if the PTFs include a Tech Refresh, when you try to apply PTFs delayed, sometimes it will pop up with an "I've really got to IPL RIGHT NOW to do these right!" message on the screen. Unless you're prepared to IPL (all users signed off; no batch processes running; system in restricted state) right now, there is an option to quit the PTF process.

The next time you plan to IPL, end everything to Restricted State, then apply the PTFs delayed. Now, when the warning message pops up, you can take the option to IPL Right Now!

After the IPL, review the applied PTFs and make sure there are no strays that need to be applied in a 2nd pass. We normally apply a cume from a separate Image Catalog from the 'stray' and group PTFs. That's when we usually have to apply PTFs in a 2nd pass.

Be ye warned, even if you tell it not to apply any immediately but to do them all delayed, it thinks it knows better than you and some may get installed immediately. Whether you do it from the menu or use the INSPTF command makes no difference.
Normally not an issue.
