Hi Darryl

I have been thinking, if you have a PF that has the FTP commands, and you use the OVRDBF of STDIN to that file, then maybe make a program that reads through the PF member and makes the subcommands there into parameters for the functions in the service program - that might leverage what has been done before.

Vern

Almost sure not.

Could you add a trigger program to the FTP log file that checks each

error recovery/restart the process/whatever it is you need to do.

Hi Darryl, I guess "scripts" means using IBM i Ftp client redirecting
input and output to src files.

If that is the case the answer to your question is no, the only Exit
Point
available to IBM i Ftp client (and server too) is a requests validation
exit point. The request validation exit points can be used to restrict
operations which can be performed by FTP users.

So I guess Alan's answer is the right suggestion. Since you probably
have
to change a lot of programs don't waste your time tweaking the scripts
but
change them into something usable via Scott Klemets Ftpapi service
program.
(thanks Scott!)

Have you looked at Scott Kelments FTP Api? It executes the FTP step

If

between systems there is an example of using the API.

It seems this is not do-able?

use
to
monitor when a FTP command is complete?

We have many FTP processes and we need to know when the FTP
command
has
completed so that we can read the FTP log and look for
failures.
To save modifying hundreds of programs, if there were
something
like
an
exit point that can tell me the transmission is complete, I
could
then
call
a program to read the log and advise if there is a failure.
