So what you are saying is
"folderName": "s:\\am\\kcrawford"
is correct. The reader on the other end will know that \\ is \ and convert
it.
Got you. I will send it to the person as is for testing.
You guys are great.
Thanks.

What they will get at the other end _is_ s:\am\kcrawford because the data
will be unescaped (is that a word?) when processed on receipt just as it
was escaped on send.

Still a bit confused.
I changed
snd_folderName = 's:\am\kcrawford';
to
snd_folderName = 's:\\am\\kcrawford';
now I get
"folderName": "s:\\\\am\\\\kcrawford"

After re-reading what you said that makes sense.
What would put in snd_folderName if I want "s:\am\kcrawford"?

Why the double slashes?
I looked for anything about special characters but did not find
anything.

Hi,

Special characters need to be escaped:
Backspace is replaced with \b.
Form feed is replaced with \f.
Newline is replaced with \n.
Carriage return is replaced with \r.
Tab is replaced with \t.
Double quote is replaced with \"
Backslash is replaced with \\
Forward slash is replaced with \/

Best regards,

Stefan Tageson
