Hello Rob,

I will say that the SAVRST* have some legitimate use and I really wish they'd rewrite those for TCP/IP.

Why not put up an RFE? Besides, I'm positive you can fake object connect facilities over IP with a temporary save file and creative use of scp or even ssh (to start the remote rst process).

Hm. I feel as if we had discussed this topic in the pastime, especially with my remark about ssh.

I just didn't want to put SNA back in once I gutted it out.

What's the point? EE APPN Controller descriptions are so very easily created and deleted. And with connection network support, it's even more easy to handle when multiple machines are involved.

I don't understand why you seem so appalled to SNA. It has its uses, as you admit. For me it's most interesting because I get more data copied between my 150 to/from other systems, compared to using ftp over IP which is hogging the CPU at 100% even with 10M Ethernet. And SNA uses just about 30% CPU over Token Ring. Maybe I'll revisit the alerts topic to have a central means of being notified about certain conditions.
