Thanks, an enlightening comment! From other comments, I learn that IBM i always uses all available cores, no matter what in "the regular way". Only VIOS uses cores for itself (aka I/O). Right?
Seen from another PoV: It's necessary to provide VIOS with (at least) one logical core, so it can actually run, right? Or am I mixing VIOS and LPARs here? Actually, I never had contact with VIOS other than I know that it exists and some theory what it does.
