I on i was mainly created for the smaller environments to quickly implement a testbed
in case you need one. It can run with rather good performance but at a cost for IBM i core counter.

If there is a need for redundancy or performance, VIOS is the way to go.
On bigger boxes it is often seen to run 8 VIOS LPARs.
