Most interesting question: Which DB-Backend did you choose? This MySQL-with-DB2-Storage-Backend? (There was a discussion about this a while ago in this list.) Or SQLite?
It's somewhat sad that even there's a lot of FOSS, apparently porting stops when it comes down to providing native SQL interfaces for IBM i DB2.
