We used Mysql (at the time Sqlite was not an option without a lot of work) - no DB2 storage engine - there was no point for the application in question.

In the past we have also used PMwiki because no database is required.

I agree that it is sad that the OS community tends to ignore Db2. With the new OdBC driver that is now less of a problem of course. At least they are ignoring all of Db2 - not just IBM i!

It's somewhat sad that even there's a lot of FOSS, apparently porting stops when it comes down to providing native SQL interfaces for IBM i DB2.
