Yes.
Manual means that the box doesn't auto-IPL after power on but you have to either choose 1 (IPL) or can apply maintenance tasks (DST, …).
We need to see how the system behaves when it's in a determined state.

Right now there are too many question marks for me to really know what's going on on that box. :-)
Maybe it still a wrong configured console, so my twinax terminal only starts getting output when IPL is finished?
