Whether C can read streamfiles has nothing to do with that; RPG has had that capability for ages. The discussion was about transferring source members to stream files, which is feasible nowadays because many compilers have added the possibility of compiling from source in the IFS. I'm not entirely sure, but I don't think that was possible in V4R5.

I believe. But it's still not clear how you want to do this actual migration, because Jim Franz explicitly was mentioning file members.

So, allow me to repeat my question: How's Jim Franz supposed to be exploiting the IFS as intermediate transfer facility? Only QSYS.LIB knows about file members.
