Subject: Wrapping my head around firmware

I have a single partition (no HMC) 9009-41A running IBMi 7.3. The current firmware is VL910_122 MH01799. The IBM chart (https://nam10.safelinks.protection.outlook.com/?url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.ibm.com%2Fsupport%2Fpages%2Fserver-firmware-stand-alone-ibm-i-systems&data=02%7C01%7C%7C5b7c1e59e5ae489b6f6708d7bed0caab%7C84df9e7fe9f640afb435aaaaaaaaaaaa%7C1%7C0%7C637187676265923927&sdata=fK0t5ASmmIMVQVBngTFCvo%2BXlYFLDVgLioUowQhakNk%3D&reserved=0) shows higher versions on LV910, as well as VL930 and VL940. I don't see any explanation to what the various Version Levels mean.

Can anyone give me a synopsis, or throw me a link that explains firmware?

TIA
