Re: Getting ready for the (far?) future

I've had many customers move from Power8 to Power9 as well and also am
curious as to why. I'm sure not every reason is the same, but maybe
similar.

I mean, I update my pixel phone every year, but mainly because I don't have
many business deductions. But my wife only gets every other model (and
kids and parents get our old ones).

I know I won't outgrow my Power8 before the latest OS won't run on it, but
hopefully that won't be for a few years. Even my old 515 still has enough
horsepower for most of the things I need it for.

Late next year (if the powers that be permit) I'll be looking for a new IBM
i machine
(current machine is 9009 41A )


Will Power 10 processors be available then?
How about those super fast memory cards replacing SSD drives?

(I know I'm hopelessly over optimistic but if the stars will align right I
might be permitted
one of these)
