We upgraded two of our machines from P8 to P9, keeping one at P8. The one still at P8 runs spinning disks. Maintenance is a big reason to upgrade. However I don't think we replaced all of our SSD's at that time. Trying to remember if there was some sweetheart deal to play like you just put your SSD's on the new machine or what. Been long enough I don't remember. I remember the P8 to P9 migration being about the easiest I've ever done, especially since we keep all IBM i disk in expansion units. Just move the disk expansion unit cable from one machine to the next.
