Back ground info:

We currently use the telnet exit point QIBM_QTG_DEVINIT allowing certain devices to auto sign on and have for several years.
Until today the system value for QLMTDEVSSN was set to *NOMAX and all user profiles were set to *SYSVAL for limit device sessions.

I was asked to change the system value to 2 and set the exception on selected users.
Sounds like that should work, which it does except for those devices that are allowed to auto sign on via the telnet exit.

Since the auto sing on does no look at the user profile for device limit, the session limit is taken from the system value.

With several hundred devices auto singing on the device limit of 2 for user profile used is quickly maxed out.

I have been poking around looking for perhaps an environment variable I could set via the exit program or something to overcome the issue.

I know I could set the device limit to 2 on all use profiles and set the system value to *NOMAX to overcome the auto sign on issues as well as set the profiles that need something other than 2.

I would prefer to set the exception at the user profile level rather than at the system value level.

Looking for suggestions.
